A new build home
Burgess Hill, West Sussex
The site, located on the countryside fringe of Burgess Hill, was purchased with the benefit of planning approval for a replacement detached dwelling, consent for which was obtained by Dwell when acting for the previous site owners.
Dwell worked with the clients to tailor the scheme to their individual requirements, and secured an amended planning consent from Lewes District Council for a larger home. Changes included adjusting the postition and orientation of the house, moving it further back from the road, and changing the format of the interior layout to suit their specific needs. With consent obtained, Dwell followed its established process of developing the technical design drawings, liaising with other consultants and the timber frame supplier, and collated materials for the tender phase, sending invitations to suitable builders.
With the building contract in place, Dwell acted as the contract administrator, principally controlling the flow of information and money between client and contractor, dealing with any changes in scope or price fairly and impartially.
